Job Summary
Enter prescribed treatments into dialysis machines, set up and dismantle equipment, and perform chemical disinfection while recording data. Monitor vital signs pre- and post-dialysis, observe machines and RO water systems for alarms, and adjust settings to ensure patient safety. Perform vascular access evaluations, cannulation, catheter care, and blood sample collection. Assist in staff training, manage inventory, and reinforce patient education on End Stage Renal Disease. Report abnormal findings, emergencies, and missed treatments immediately to the Registered Nurse. Maintain compliance with facility policies, complete required training modules, and pass competency validations.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Current CCHT, Bonent or State required certificate if experienced
- Current CPR card if experienced or within 3 weeks of hire date
- Must possess PC proficiency
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
- Experience in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Word and Excel
- Good presentation & communication skills
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently yet function in a highly collaborative, fast-paced team environment
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines effectively
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High integrity, team player with patient service focus and flexibility
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to lift and lower solutions of up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to occasionally lift solutions of up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to bend over
- Must be able to push and/or pull equipment
- Must be able to exert up to 15 pounds of force
- Must be able to frequently stand
- Must pass the Ishihara's Color Blindness test
Desired Qualifications
- 1 or more years' experience as a certified Patient Care Technician
