Job Summary
Measure and document vital signs, identify patient concerns, and report issues to colleagues while moving, turning, or relocating patients as required for comfort and medical needs. Perform multi-skilled activities under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse to support a decentralized, patient-centered approach. Maintain current Basic Life Support certification and work rotating shifts, including PRN coverage on the MedSurg 2nd Floor.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or equivalent
- Current American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider certification
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
- Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs.
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
- Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Good peripheral vision capabilities
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
- Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to work in a latex safe environment
- Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function (Selected Positions)
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required (Selected Positions)
Desired Qualifications
- At least 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
