Job Summary
Provide direct patient care support under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the MedSurg unit. Duties include measuring and documenting vital signs, assisting with daily activities and patient hygiene, monitoring patient condition (including EKG signals), reporting concerns to nursing staff, helping move/relocate patients, maintaining orderly and sanitized patient rooms, and supporting basic treatments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; BLS certification at hire and preferably 1 year of patient care experience or CNA certification. Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills are essential to collaborate with the Care Team and Nurse Manager.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- At least 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility or Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred.
- Basic Life Support required upon hire and maintained thereafter (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or ARC CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- At least 1 year of patient care work experience in a health care facility or Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire; maintain current BLS (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or ARC CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer) thereafter.
