Job Summary
Secure IV pumps, zero beds, and update whiteboards while assisting nurses with patient comfort, safety, and dignity. Maintain a clean environment by cleaning equipment, using infection control techniques, and changing sharps containers. Document daily duties including hygiene, vital signs, nutritional assistance, and intake/output; accurately collect and transport specimens to the lab. Answer call lights immediately, reinforce patient teaching, and report changes in condition or behavior to staff. Enter orders and charges into the computer system, manage time and task prioritization, and contribute to the plan of care under nurse direction. Work three 12-hour shifts Monday through Friday plus one weekend per month.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED OR be currently enrolled in a high school or GED program
- Hold a CNA license or have completed the Gold Standard Intern Program
- Have documentation of fundamentals of nursing courses
- Have a minimum of 18 months in a relevant patient care role
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively using tact and sensitivity
- Self motivated
- Ability to work and make decisions with limited supervision
- Strong knowledge of emergency procedures
- Ability to stay calm in stressful situations
- Ability to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department
- Open availability Monday through Friday
- Flexibility to work three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- One weekend per month
