Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision as part of unit staff. Responsibilities include admission/transfer/discharge assistance, recording vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, blood pressure), intake/output, applying cardiac monitor/oximetry, obtaining EKG, newborn care and screening, phlebotomy, fetal monitor application, post-mortem/transports, patient mobility and safety support, preparing rooms and equipment, and responding to emergencies. Support peri-operative and routine patient care, assist with feeding, comfort, and daily activities; maintain safe environment and documentation per policies. Requires CNA certification or current enrollment in nursing education with clinical rotations; CPR/BLS; high school diploma (associates or bachelor’s preferred); previous healthcare experience preferred. Required Qualifications
- CNA Certification or currently enrolled in School of Nursing who has successfully completed basic clinical rotations
- CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Minimum of 90% correct on annual mandatory Health and Safety Training quizzes
- Unit based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring
- High school diploma required. One year of college or nursing education or equivalent experience preferred
