Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; monitor and record vital signs; perform EKGs, phlebotomy, newborn care, glucose checks, and other routine nursing tasks; prepare patients for procedures, transport as needed, and ensure safety and comfort on the unit. Requires CNA certification or active enrollment in nursing education, CPR/BLS, and a high school diploma; preferred Associate or Bachelor’s degree. Must be able to work part-time night shifts within the Northwestern Medicine system.
Required Qualifications
- CNA Certification or currently enrolled in School of Nursing who has successfully completed basic clinical rotations
- CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- High school diploma required. One year of college or nursing education or equivalent experience preferred
