Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician supports the Registered Nurse in direct and indirect patient care on an inpatient unit. Responsibilities include admission/transfer/discharge activities, vital signs (temperature, pulse, respirations, weight, height, BP), intake/output, monitoring with cardiac monitor/oximetry, obtaining EKGs, newborn care and screenings, phlebotomy, capillary glucose monitoring, assisting with post-operative care, safety measures, patient transfers, and responding to emergencies. Requires CNA certification or active nursing-school enrollment with clinical rotations, CPR/BLS certification, and a high school diploma. Experience with newborn care, glucose monitoring, and basic nursing procedures is valued; competency in documenting and communicating patient observations and maintaining a safe, clean environment is expected.
Required Qualifications
- CNA Certification or currently enrolled in School of Nursing with basic clinical rotations
- CPR recognition by the American Heart Association (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- High school diploma required
