Patient Care Tech - Full Time Night Shift

The Patient Care Tech performs clinical/patient care tasks under the direction of the RN or physician to support patients and staff, including collecting/labeling/transmitting specimens, obtaining 12-lead EKGs, discontinuingSaline locks, urinary catheters, telemetry packs, performing bladder scans, and point-of-care testing. Provides assistance with personal hygiene, nutrition, and activities of daily living; conducts hourly rounding with the RN; documents patient data per plan of care; supports patient ambulation/positioning and maintains a safe clinical environment. Participates in safety and learning initiatives, assists with post-mortem care, and supports nursing leadership in training needs. Additional responsibilities include handling calls, obtaining advance directives copies for EMR, managing admissions via EMR, and ensuring unit readiness during downtime. Requires HS diploma or equivalent, CNA program completion and Illinois CNA Registry listing (or nursing student with clinical rotation), and BLS certification. Equal opportunity employer.
