Job Summary
Patient Care Tech needed at MercyOne Des Moines. Responsibilities include delivering patient care under RN/LPN supervision, assisting with activities of daily living (hygiene, bathing, ambulation, dressing, feeding, elimination), responding to patient calls, ensuring safety and comfort, performing or assisting with routine procedures, recording entries in health records, monitoring intake/output and vital signs, bedside glucose testing, preparing rooms/equipment for procedures, and providing support during admissions/transfers/discharges. Requires 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), rotating weekends/holidays, and adherence to safety and policy standards; must maintain BLS certification within six weeks and complete required abuse-training within three months. Des Moines, IA location with MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 16 years of age.
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter – Child and/or Dependent Adult Abuse training within three (3) months of hire.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certified within six (6) weeks of hire.
