Job Summary
Patient Care Technician (PCT) float position at SJH in Elmira, NY. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding, vital signs, specimen collection (blood, urine, sputum, etc.), glucometer testing, and various nursing-assist tasks. Must be adaptable for emergency department float needs, demonstrate professional communication, maintain patient comfort and safety, follow standard precautions, assist with isolation care, document ADLs and vitals, and participate in quality improvement activities. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, nursing aide training, and phlebotomy/glucometer experience; BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift/move patients as part of routine duties.
