Job Summary
Patient Care Tech (PRN) at Unity Health with responsibilities including performing phlebotomy and EKGs, assisting with direct patient care, monitoring vital signs, observing patient conditions, and supporting RN/LPN with assigned duties. Requires High School diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved PCT program or Unity Health PCA II Course; training in phlebotomy/EKGs preferred; must be able to communicate effectively with hospital staff and the public, and perform both direct and indirect care tasks while adhering to infection control and safety guidelines. Physical tasks include handling equipment and lifting up to 50 pounds; role includes weekend/holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an approved PCT program or completed Unity Health PCA II Course
- Training in phlebotomy and EKGs preferred or on-the-job training
- Ability to perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and related filing
- Ability to deliver direct and indirect patient care across neonate to geriatric ages
- Computer skills and ability to enter data
- Understanding of infection control and safety guidelines
- Safety Sensitive position per organization policy
