Job Summary
Entry-level Patient Care Specialist responsible for assisting patients with fitting and usage instructions for medical equipment, processing equipment orders, maintaining accurate patient records, ensuring sanitation and proper maintenance of equipment, providing basic troubleshooting, and assisting with appointment scheduling in a office setting. Requires COF certification within 12 months of hire, and education of high school diploma or equivalent (associate degree preferred). Must be comfortable interacting with patients and handling measurements in a healthcare environment; some travel to satellite locations may be required. Strong emphasis on accuracy, documentation, safety compliance, and patient service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- COF certification (Certified Orthotic Fitter)
- 6 months of experience in providing patient services in a health care setting, medical office, sports rehab, fitness, or retail environment
- Excellent communication skills including active listening
- Proficiency in Office Suite and other analogous office programs
