Job Summary
Patient Care Specialist at SBHC Ossining Middle School in Ossining, NY. Responsible for clinical and administrative tasks including recording chief complaints, medical history, vital signs, vision and hearing, EKG, Spiro, and basic lab tests; assisting providers during examinations and tests; maintaining electronic medical records and referrals; coordinating with school nurses and staff; translating between parents and providers as needed; maintaining patient confidentiality; and supporting HIV/STD prevention and family planning education. Requires High School Diploma or GED and Accredited Medical Assistant certificate, bilingual English/Spanish, 1+ year Medical Assistant experience, strong customer service, ability to travel between SBHC sites, and comfort working with pediatric/adolescent patients. Proficient in MS Office and EMR; able to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment; compassionate, professional interactions with patients and families. Salary range is $22.00-$25.00 hourly ($45,760-$52,000 annually) with retention bonus eligibility; located in Ossining, NY with local travel to other SBHC sites as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Accredited Medical Assistant certificate
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- One+ years of Medical Assistant experience
- Strong communication and customer service skills
