Job Summary
Greets, registers, and checks in patients, ensuring accurate demographic, insurance, and contact information in the EHR. Verifies insurance eligibility, obtains authorizations, and processes copayments following standard cash-handling procedures. Answers phone calls, schedules appointments, and coordinates across multiple providers to maintain daily schedules. Processes urgent referrals, medical record releases, and clerical tasks including filing, faxing, and scanning. Reviews patient accounts for outstanding balances or documentation errors and partners with billing to resolve discrepancies. Maintains full HIPAA and privacy compliance by safeguarding patient information and reporting breaches promptly. Audits patient charts and referral documentation to identify compliance issues and participates in mandatory training programs. Supports the Practice Manager with assigned administrative tasks and prepares operational reports on scheduling efficiency and registration accuracy.
