Job Summary
The Patient Care Specialist (PCS) provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and accepts delegation from care team members. duties include direct patient care, data collection and documentation, and communicating information to patients, families, and the care team, as well as unit-based clerical support to maintain the environment of care. Requires strong organizational skills, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous learning and quality. Proficiency with multiple computer applications and ability to work with patients across the lifespan with multiple conditions. Schedule is full-time with 8-hour shifts, occasional variation, and potential floating to other practices/sites; no weekend or holiday work anticipated in this posting.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age prior to start date
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work irregular hours (days, evenings, holidays, weekends)
- High School Graduate or GED equivalency preferred
- Current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required or orientation/training provided
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred: PCS, HUC, MA, NS, Ward Clerk experience
- Preferred demonstration of medical terminology
