Job Summary
Patient Care Representative role providing welcoming patient environment, accurate data entry of demographic/insurance information, collecting payments, coordinating scheduling, performing insurance verification and eligibility checks, communicating charges estimates, ensuring pre-appointment authorizations, and collaborating with clinical departments to optimize patient experience. Must handle scheduling for outpatient visits, confirm appointments, conduct follow-ups via phone/SMS/email, and meet KPIs as defined by Clinic Manager. Requires 45 wpm typing, HS diploma (associates or some college preferred), and ability to work independently within a team. In-person, full-time position in the Richmond/Midlothian area with multiple locations; strong emphasis on patient service, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education: HS diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working in medical office or hospital registration
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Demonstrates attention to detail
