Patient Care Partner - Float Pool - .9 - Night Shift - 72 Hours Bi-Weekly

Job Summary
Provide direct patient care, including treatments and diagnostic studies as directed by a Registered Nurse. Support unit and hospital goals by conducting patient rounds, anticipating needs, and responding promptly to call lights or pages. Utilize observational skills to communicate findings, changes, or problems to the RN, while performing validated technical skills and completing quality control checks on designated unit equipment. Maintain effective communication with patients, families, staff, and colleagues using appropriate verbal and non-verbal styles. This night shift role (Sunday-Saturday, 1900-0730) is part of the Nurse Float Pool at Lehigh Valley Health Network, a Magnet hospital recognized for patient safety and excellence.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Less than 1 year Six months recent experience in direct provision of patient care activities, including treatments and/or diagnostic studies
- Successful completion of LVHN's inexperienced technical partner course
- Ability to follow direction and provide accurate reports
- Attainment and maintenance of unit-specific competencies
- Ability to organize and prioritize assignments in the delivery of patient care
- Basic computer skills
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania within 30 Days
- Lift and carry 40-50 lbs
- Frequent to continuous standing/walking
- Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift
- Perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR
