Job Summary
Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) in the Medical ICU providing patient-centered support: assist nursing caregivers, transport patients, conduct EKG and phlebotomy duties, attend to patient and family needs, assist with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, toileting, hygiene), document care in the medical record, restock supplies, collect and transport specimens, and communicate patient condition changes to RN/LPN. Requires High School Diploma or GED and Basic Life Support (BLS); nursing students with BLS before hire; CNA or STNA preferred; PRN night shift 7:00pm–7:30am with weekend and occasional holiday shifts; physical requirements and equal employment opportunity statements apply. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within new hire period
- Nursing students: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hire
- Preferred: Graduate of an approved program for Nursing Assistants or previous hospital training
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Six months of experience in an acute care hospital setting (STNA)
