Job Summary
Obtain accurate patient information, verify insurance on the date of service, and collect signatures for required documents. Perform insurance verification, upload valid government-issued IDs and insurance cards, and maintain accurate medical records. Correct registration work queue errors, confirm and schedule appointments, and answer incoming and outgoing telephone calls promptly. Check in and check out pediatric and adult pulmonary patients, perform referral documentation, and work daily in the claims edit work queue to correct registration errors for submission. Schedule specialist appointments, obtain lab results or specialist reports, and ensure continuity of care through scheduling and tracking systems. Comply with administrative policies, maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA and OSHA requirements, and work cohesively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve specific goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of experience working in medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and maintaining medical records or healthcare related field
- 1+ years of computer proficiency experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, etc.)
- Ability to work Monday through Friday a 37.5-hour work week
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
- Thursday from 11: 00 am to 7:30 pm
- The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire
