Patient Care Coordinator (RN) | Full Time | Days - 1E Acute Care Nursing

Job Summary
Organize and facilitate patient care by managing a designated clinical area, making assignments based on patient needs, and solving problems with staff. Lead performance improvement projects while ensuring all duties align with Singing River Health System procedures, accreditation standards, and governing guidance. Supervise all nursing and clerical staff, including medical assistants, within the assigned unit. Maintain current BCLS certification and required specialty certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP depending on the clinical area. Work a 7 AM to 7 PM shift at Singing River Pascagoula Hospital with moderate physical activity and the ability to handle high-stress situations.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from NLN School of Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Mississippi
- BCLS certification
- De-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days)
- Appropriate level of de-escalation training
- Current and maintained TB certification as applicable to their position and scope of practice
- Two (2) years' experience as a registered nurse
- Moderately active physical demands
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels
- Close visual and acuity
- Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
- Ability to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue
- Keen mental faculties/assessment and decision making abilities
- Superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations
- Ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations
- Superior customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient)
- Appropriate clinical judgment
- Ability to apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages
- Ability to work schedules assigned with the understanding that changes may be instituted according to the needs of the hospital for off days, shifts or weekends
