Job Summary
Greet patients, register demographic and insurance information, and collect copays. Schedule follow-up appointments, scan records, and verify data in the EMR system. Answer phones, check voicemail, direct calls to clinical staff, and sort faxes to schedule referred patients. Respond to online appointment requests and complete other assigned office admin duties. Escalate billing or coding issues to Patient Care Coordinators. Maintain punctuality, meet deadlines, and comply with company policies and standards of conduct. Requires high school diploma, one year of call center or front desk experience, and strong data entry and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED
- 1 year experience (preferable in dermatology) within a call center and front desk setting
- ability to work independently and to maintain mental focus for long periods of time
- strong English oral and written communication skills
- sufficient eyesight to be able to read medical charts and computer monitors
- manual dexterity sufficient to utilize reference materials and to manipulate pages in Medical Chart and to type on keyboards
