Patient Care Coordinator / Medical Scheduler

Job Summary
Maintain the physician's appointment schedule by scheduling appointments for patients via phone or in person, ensuring all bookings match provider availability and patient preferences within the electronic medical record. Complete non-clinical orders entered in patient charts, scan records into the EMR as needed, and manage appointment conflicts proactively. Answer multi-line phones, triage calls, return all calls by the end of the business day, and communicate clearly with patients and staff regarding upcoming scans, labs, or procedures. Actively participate in weekly team meetings and communicate consistently with the provider team regarding patient care plan changes. Maintain a pleasant, professional demeanor while meeting deadlines and resolving issues to ensure a positive patient experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year experience in complex medical scheduling
- Minimum one year clerical and/or Medical Secretary experience in a health care field
- oncology experience
- Knowledge and application of medical terminology
- Previous experience with electronic medical record systems
- Exceptional customer service experience
