Job Summary
Schedule appointments and procedures, verify patient information, and document in the Electronic Health Record (EPIC). Greet customers, answer incoming calls, and collect co-pays and past due balances while maintaining a work queue for referrals and pending actions. Check patients in and out, prepare documentation with accuracy, and adhere to Lean processes and OSHA/HIPAA guidelines. Meet performance measures established by the Practice Management Department and adapt to a continuously changing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of experience computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- 1+ years of experience working in a medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays and balances due, and maintaining medical records or the medical field
- Ability to be able to answer multiple phone calls
- Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Experience taking inbound and outbound calls
- Knowledge of OBGYN terminology, women's health and fertility issues
- Knowledge of Epic or EMR software
