Job Summary

Schedule appointments and procedures, verify patient information in EPIC, and coordinate all patient appointments as directed. Greet customers, answer incoming calls, and direct calls while taking messages. Assist patients with signing in, completing registration, and collecting co-pays and past due balances. Maintain a work queue list to complete pending actions such as referrals and documentation. Check in and check out patients, ensuring accuracy in all records and adherence to Lean processes. Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and payment policies while supporting the team in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 1+ years of experience computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • 1+ years of experience working in a medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays and balances due, and maintaining medical records or the medical field
  • Ability to be able to answer multiple phone calls
  • Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Valid driver's license

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience taking inbound and outbound calls
  • Knowledge of OBGYN terminology, women's health and fertility issues
  • Knowledge of Epic or EMR software
