Job Summary
Organize the practice's daily activities, paperwork, and patient appointments while scheduling procedures and coordinating check-ins and check-outs. Verify patient information and document accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EPIC), collect co-pays and balances, and answer incoming phone calls to direct calls and take messages. Complete registration forms, maintain a work queue for pending actions like referrals, and prepare all documentation with precision. Adhere to Lean processes, OSHA/WISHA guidelines, and HIPAA regulations while supporting the team in meeting financial, clinical, and service goals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 1+ years of experience computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- 1+ years of experience working in a medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, collecting co-pays and balances due, and maintaining medical records or the medical field
- Ability to be able to answer multiple phone calls
- Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience taking inbound and outbound calls
- Knowledge of OBGYN terminology, women's health and fertility issues
- Knowledge of Epic or EMR software
