Job Summary
Greet customers into the practice and provide instruction on the phone and in person. Obtain accurate patient information, including name, address, and insurance details, while performing insurance verification on the date of service. Direct incoming calls, take messages, and manage a work queue to complete pending actions like insurance eligibility checks. Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, obtain required signatures, and upload valid government-issued IDs and insurance cards. Prepare documentation and records with accuracy, maintain a clean work area, and adhere to payment security policies and OSHA/WISHA guidelines. Follow HIPAA regulations and established protocols to meet performance measures set by the Practice Management Dept.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1+ years of experience computer proficiency (multi-task through multiple applications including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word)
- 1+ years of experience working in a medical office position performing duties such as scheduling appointments, checking patients in/out, insurance verification, and maintaining medical records
- Ability to travel to both locations 3927 Rucker Ave. Walk-in ClinicUrgent or second or Third Floor Care, Everett, WA 98201 or 4011 172 Street NE, Arlington WA with a current and non-restricted state of Washington Driver's License and State-required insurance
- Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
- Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience taking inbound and outbound calls
- 1+ years of experience working knowledge of Epic EMR software
