Job Summary
Assist dentists in clinical procedures, patient education, and treatment planning while managing reception logistics and appointment scheduling. Maintain infection control standards, sterilize instruments, and ensure proper bio-hazardous waste disposal. Document all patient visits, review medical histories, and explain insurance benefits and financial options. Operate and maintain dental equipment, including hand pieces and radiograph processors, while stocking inventory and attending morning huddles. Recognize dental emergencies and respond promptly to patient and staff needs. Adhere to HIPAA regulations, uniform attire, and continuing education requirements. This role requires an Expanded Duties Certificate or Radiography Certification within 90 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Expanded Duties Certificate and/or Radiography Certification upon hire or within ninety (90) days after hire
- Active Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license or Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate obtained prior to May 2009
- Radiography licensure
- Minimum of one-year dental experience preferred
