Job Summary
Conduct clinical procedures and treatments while assisting the dentist in providing care and education to patients. Welcome and escort patients through reception, schedule appointments, and confirm calls. Document and chart all dental procedures according to dentist instructions and legal requirements, ensuring accurate medical history and consent forms are reviewed. Maintain material safety data sheets, disinfect instruments, and properly dispose of bio-hazardous waste in compliance with OSHA laws and state infection control standards. Insure operatories are stocked and maintained equipment protocols, including cleaning evacuation systems and radiograph processors. Recognize dental emergencies and notify staff and emergency personnel as necessary. Present dental treatment plans and explain insurance benefits to patients in a professional, confidential manner. Attend morning huddles, regular meetings, and continuing education seminars while adhering to HIPAA regulations and company uniform policies.
Required Qualifications
- Expanded Duties Certificate
- Radiography Certification
- Active Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certificate
- Radiography licensure
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum of one-year dental experience
