Job Summary
Greet and arrive patients; secure signatures for all required documentation; and obtain and verify insurance and demographic information. Make collection attempts while providing education on resources available. Reconcile work lists and reports; facilitate patient care between primary, specialty, and ancillary services. Welcome and coordinate intake of patient information for new and existing patients, creating and maintaining medical records. Process and route all incoming calls or requests; schedule, confirm, or reschedule patient appointments. Work Televox Reports daily; promote Patient Connect enrollment; and distribute mail, faxes, and electronic desktops. Receive, track, and educate patients on form completion requests. Work independently and within a team on special, nonrecurring, and ongoing projects.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or General Educational Development equivalency
- Must pass annual registration competency exam
- Proven customer service experience
- Knowledge of medical office operations, including scheduling, registration, electronic medical records, patient flow, billing, coding, charge capture, referrals, authorizations, payer guidelines, compliance, credentials, privileges, regulatory agencies, and the DNV standards
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated customer service ability to interact with the public, staff and patients
- Familiarity with medical terminology
