Job Summary
Patient Care Coordinator at Ascend Aesthetic Partners (Advanced Aesthetics) will serve as the primary contact for patients from initial consultation through post-operative care, coordinating scheduling (including consultations, surgeries, and follow-ups), assisting with treatment planning, explaining procedures and costs, handling insurance verification and billing inquiries, maintaining EMR records, and collaborating with surgeons and staff to ensure a seamless patient experience. Responsibilities include patient interaction and consultation support, treatment and procedure coordination, post-operative follow-up, patient education and advocacy, documentation, and cross-team communication to enhance service delivery. The role requires strong understanding of plastic surgery procedures, medical terminology, and billing/insurance processes, with a high attention to detail and empathy in patient interactions. The position is full-time and based in Fayetteville, GA.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a patient care coordination or medical office role
- Strong understanding of plastic surgery procedures, medical terminology, and patient care processes
- Experience with insurance verification, billing, and handling financial transactions is highly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, medical assisting, or a related field is preferred
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or similar) or a certification in patient coordination or healthcare administration is a plus
- Certification in billing or coding (CPC, CCS, or similar) is advantageous but not required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) or CPR certification is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with practice management software and electronic medical records (EMR)
- High attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, professionalism, and discretion
- Positive attitude with a genuine interest in providing exceptional service to patients and improving their experience at every step
