Job Summary
Coordinate patient appointments in the Ophthalmology department, scheduling/rescheduling/canceling via phone and in person; provide patients with clear instructions regarding visit preparation, referrals, and insurance requirements; confirm appointments and manage scheduling work queues; verify/update patient demographic and insurance information; coordinate provider schedules and optimize appointment templates. EMR experience preferred; strong communication and customer service skills; ability to multitask and handle high call volumes in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool/GED or equivalent
- Previous medical scheduling or healthcare experience preferred
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and manage high call volumes
