Job Summary
Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN; perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care. Requires high school diploma or GED, CNA/CPTC or enrollment in a healthcare program; BLS within one month of hire and PCA competencies within 3 months. Position lifts up to 50 pounds, involves prolonged standing/walking, and includes a 90-day orientation with a 175-hour training program to meet state requirements for the PCA role.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or CNA/CPTC
- Enrollment in a healthcare career program or current Mercy co-worker
- BLS certification within one month of hire
- PCA competencies within 3 months of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking per shift
- CNA preferred
- 90-day orientation period for training completion
