Job Summary
Under the direction of the RN or LPN, the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists in individualized patient care to help achieve the patient’s highest level of wellness and works cooperatively as part of a team. For PCA duties, it includes recording vital signs and assisting patients with daily needs; for PCT duties includes phlebotomy/blood cultures, enteral feedings, wound care, removal of IVs and Foley catheters, and tracheostomy care/suctioning. Mercy offers a 175-hour training program within 90 days of hire as part of an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship. Schedule is Full-Time (40 hours/week) at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. Sign-On Bonus: $1,000 for Day Shift (paid in installments). Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and enrollment or completion of an approved nursing program; BLS is required within one month of hire. The role emphasizes patient care, clerical support, and teamwork in a hospital setting.
Required Qualifications
