Patient Care Associate-PCA - Med/Surg-Part Time-Nights (12 hrs/wk)

Under the supervision of an RN or LPN, provides individualized patient care and performs designated clinical and supportive tasks in a 30-bed Med/Surg unit. Responsibilities include obtaining vital signs, assisting with meals, bathing, toileting, ambulation, and transport; clerical support; potential growth to PCA to PCT with additional duties such as phlebotomy, wound care, IV and Foley removal, tracheostomy care, and enteral feeding. Training programs include a 175-hour apprenticeship and a pathway to PCA competencies within 3 months; BLS required within 1 month of hire. The unit emphasizes teamwork, accountability, and patient wellness across common conditions like GI disorders, oncology, UTIs, dehydration, pneumonia, COPD, wounds, and post-operative care. Preferred CNA/CPTC certification or enrollment in a healthcare program.
