Job Summary
Patient Care Associate (PCA) in the 2A Progressive Care Unit provides high-quality direct patient care, including activities of daily living, safe patient handling, intake/output measurement, foley removal, external urinary catheter management, telemetry monitor setup, blood glucose monitoring, and oxygen setup. May provide clerical support and coordinate care with the care team, visitors, and family. Works under direct supervision of a RN/Patient Care Coordinator and indirectly with Nurse Manager/Director to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED/STNA and De-escalation training plus BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or STNA
- De-escalation training within 6 months and annually
- BLS within 90 days of hire
