Job Summary
Assist professional staff by participating in direct and indirect patient care, including performing EKGs and phlebotomy, plus materials management and maintenance per approved policies. Requires HS diploma or equivalent and applicable healthcare certifications; ability to work with a healthcare delivery team, set priorities, handle interruptions, and communicate effectively with patients across neonatal to geriatric populations. Emphasizes teamwork and adherence to policy while providing patient care in the Neurology/Med Surg unit during Night shifts; includes training pathways (PCA Fundamentals) and BLS within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid current and active certification from credentialing organization (AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, AMCA, NAHP, or NCMA) in one of: CNA, CMA, Patient Care Technician, NJ State Certified Home Health Aide or EMT
- Current and enrolled nursing student who has completed and passed Fundamentals of Nursing or
- In lieu of experience, complete 8-week PCA Fundamentals Program and obtain BLS certification within 90 days of employment
- No previous experience required
