Job Summary
Answer phones, set schedules and meetings, and type documents while maintaining medical records and files. Prepare treatment rooms for examinations by keeping them clean and sterilizing equipment and instruments. Interview patients to obtain medical information or schedule activities, then explain treatment procedures, medications, and pre-established instructions. Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; measure vital signs, weight, and height as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience
- Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements)
- A driver's license is not required for this position
Desired Qualifications
- Medical assistant school training or some college
- Vocational Diploma - specific trade or career - Medical Assistant
