Job Summary
Receives patient care assignments from the registered nurse and initiates delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence. Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, hygiene, nutrition, and comfort measures while performing vital signs, measurements, and recording results in the Electronic Health Record. Renders care under RN supervision by assisting with venipuncture, phlebotomy, laboratory specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and EKGs. Informs the RN of significant changes in patient condition, recognizes care priorities, and restocks supplies to maintain clean patient rooms and nursing stations. Provides support to patients and families, transports patients for procedures, and promotes cost containment through identified improvement opportunities. Works nights in the FTL Pediatrics Med Surg department.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Nursing Assisting Training Program or equivalent at a State Approved site which is eligible for Florida C.N.A. examination
- Equivalent years of experience
- American Heart Association BLS -maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
Desired Qualifications
- Florida State C.N.A certification preferred
- Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred
- Phlebotomy and EKG experience preferred
