Patient Care Associate | 1E Acute Care | Full Time | Nights

Job Summary
Provide basic nursing care, including personal and restorative care, to patients according to predefined guidelines and a plan of care established by a Registered Nurse or LPN. Perform duties under direct supervision while adhering to CDC Guidelines for Infection Control and Singing River Health System policies. Maintain BCLS certification and complete de-escalation training by orientation end. Work moderately active shifts from 7:00pm to 7:30am at Singing River Pascagoula Hospital, managing patient populations of all ages with attention to detail and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Equivalent related work experience or completion of a Nurse Aide program
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification recognized by the State of Mississippi Department of Health
- BCLS certification
- De-escalation training completed by the end of position orientation (90 days)
- Appropriate level of de-escalation training
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to perceive the nature of sound at normal speaking levels
- Close visual and acuity
- Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
- Ability to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue
- Keen mental faculties/assessment and decision-making abilities
- Superior communication/speaking/enunciation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Emotional stability conducive to dealing with high stress levels
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in complex situations
- Ability to maintain collaborative and respectable working relationships throughout SRHS and other organizations
- Superior customer service skills and professional etiquette
- Proficient knowledge and ability to use a computer (must be keyboard proficient)
- Appropriate clinical judgment
- Ability to apply appropriate professional skills to a patient population of all ages
- Must be able to be active for extended periods of time without experiencing undue fatigue
- Must be able to work schedules assigned with the understanding that changes may be instituted according to the needs of the hospital for off days, shifts or weekends
Desired Qualifications
- Successful completion of Nurse Assistant/Aide program
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant certification recognized by the State of Mississippi Department of Health (for SNF unit)
