Job Summary
Patient Care Assistant/Unit Coordinator on a 6A-6P shift at South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY. Responsibilities include clerical duties on the unit under the direction of a Licensed Nursing Personnel, providing clinical patient care support under an RN, phlebotomy, EKG lead placement, respiratory functions, transcription and communication of orders, assembling and maintaining patient records, chart management, admission/discharge/supporting mobility and hygiene tasks, collecting specimens, performing point-of-care testing, operating equipment, ensuring HIPAA/privacy, and contributing to a collaborative, patient-centered care environment. Requires a high school diploma or GED; BLS is required; CNA/CMA/EMT certifications are preferred; nursing students may apply with fundamentals of nursing coursework completed. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
- Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT Training Program or Nursing Students who have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Course from an accredited school of nursing (preferred)
- Basic Life Support (through AHA) (required)
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant (C.N.A), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) (preferred)
- Current and in good standing with state licensing board or be enrolled in an accredited school of nursing with completion of Fundamentals of Nursing Course (LPN’s may apply.) (preferred)
