Patient Care Assistant (PCA) / Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) - Med Surg

Provide direct patient care activities under RN supervision, including personal hygiene, vital signs monitoring, and ambulation assistance. Maintain constant visual observation of patients requiring close safety observation, positioning yourself at the bedside and never leaving them unsupervised unless directed. Collaborate with the healthcare team to document care in patient charts, assist with equipment setup and cleaning, and manage patient room order and supplies. Transport patients as needed and function as a health unit coordinator while advocating for patient safety and maintaining organizational competencies. Report directly to the supervising RN, LPN, or department charge nurse.
