Job Summary
PCA Flex positions at Houston Methodist Campus involve providing nursing assistant level care under supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities include performing basic ADLs (elimination, hygiene, safety, nutrition), conducting hourly rounding, documenting care per policy, reporting observations to licensed staff, ensuring patient and family-centered care, and collaborating with the interprofessional team to support patient needs within unit-defined limits. Must demonstrate communication skills in English and contribute to a positive care environment while upholding ICARE values.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years acute care hospital experience or completion of PCA externship
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant - State Licensure - Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) - American Heart Association
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or Instructor (CPI) - Crisis Prevention Institute within 4 months
