Job Summary
Patient Care Assistant-PATS provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Practitioner in Pre-Anesthesia Testing (PATS) at Loma Linda University Health. Responsibilities include performing age-appropriate patient care, vital signs, 12-lead EKGs, chart preparation, rooming patients, front desk coverage, scheduling, and other duties as needed. Requires completion of a CNA or MA program (or School of Nursing fundamentals) with BLS certification; six months of experience as a patient care assistant or medical assistant is preferred. Demonstrates strong communication, teamwork, and professional conduct within a diverse patient population.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) program OR completion of School of Nursing fundamentals required.
- Basic Life Support certification issued by the American Heart Association required.
