Job Summary
Patient Care Assistant assists the nursing and surgical team by performing basic patient care tasks across Pre-Op, OR, and Post-Op. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, preparing surgical sites, assisting with sterile technique, transporting patients, connecting monitors and equipment, assisting with patient mobility and discharge, managing supplies and inventory, and supporting documentation and compliance (OSHA, infection control). Requires CPR certification, a high school diploma or GED, and at least two years of patient care experience, with preferred experience in a surgical setting and basic proficiency with Microsoft/Google suites and EMR systems. This is an on-site, full-time role in an ambulatory surgery center in Rockford, IL.
