Job Summary
Greet patients, complete check-in and check-out processes, and manage registration, forms collection, and co-payment collection. Answer phones, schedule appointments, and route messages to appropriate contacts while maintaining patient privacy under HIPAA guidelines. Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare treatment areas, and assist with specimen collection and equipment sterilization. Validate patient medical records, obtain vital signs, and update information in the Electronic Medical Record using EPIC functionality. Monitor appointment reports, address insurance flags, and collect necessary demographic and insurance data. Ensure exam rooms are cleaned per infection control standards and restock supplies as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Working knowledge of English in verbal, reading and writing abilities
- Demonstrated ability in computer skills
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Patient Care Assistant or Medical Assistant within the last two years
- Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to thrive in a team work environment
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture and phlebotomy
