Job Summary
Greet patients, register them, and manage intake including insurance verification, co-payment collection, and demographic data gathering. Escort patients to exam rooms, prepare visit areas, and collect lab specimens while taking vital signs and recording data in the Electronic Medical Record. Validate medical records, scan documents into Epic, and maintain patient privacy per HIPAA standards. Answer phones, schedule appointments, and monitor front-end work queues to address missing information. Clean and sterilize equipment, restock supplies, and ensure infection control compliance. Promote MyChart and Check Mate kiosks, handle patient inquiries, and collaborate with clinical teams to support efficient workflows.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Working knowledge of English in verbal, reading and writing abilities
- Demonstrated ability in computer skills
- Minimum of one year of experience as a Patient Care Assistant or Medical Assistant within the last two years
- Ability to complete multiple tasks efficiently
- Ability to thrive in a team work environment
- Pursues a positive patient care experience
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture and phlebotomy
