Job Summary
Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, toileting, dressing, and grooming while preparing meals and snacks. Measure and record non-invasive vital signs, patient weights, intake/output, and glucometry, and perform EKGs and simple dressing changes under the direction of a registered nurse. Anticipate individual patient needs within the established plan of care, assist with physical therapy exercises and ambulation, and complete procedure setup and clean-up. Escort discharged patients and families, transport patients and equipment, and maintain patient rooms and unit supplies. Complete a minimum of 250 hours within 12 months with an expectation of 50% off-shift coverage including nights and weekends, and work one winter and one summer holiday per year.
Required Qualifications
- Nursing student currently enrolled in a BSN or direct-entry Masters' program
- Completed fundamentals in nursing
- Completed two clinical rotations
- In good academic standing in current program
- One letter of reference from a Nursing Program Professor
- Bi-lingual skills
- Prior experience in a clinical setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Proficient in computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records
- Ability to complete a minimum of 250 hours within 12 months
- Expectation that 50% of hours will be off-shift (nights/weekends)
- Expectation to work one winter and one summer holiday/year
Desired Qualifications
- May not currently hold a valid nursing license
- EPIC experience
- Experience working in patient care/elder care 0-1 year
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Strong patient/customer service skills
- Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Generic - HR Only preferred
- Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician [National Certification] - Generic - HR Only preferred
- Nursing Assistant [LNA - New Hampshire] - New Hampshire Board of Nursing preferred
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
