Job Summary
Deliver meal trays and assist with feeding, ambulation, toileting, bathing, and personal hygiene under the direction of regulated health care professionals. Provide physical assistance with lifts and transfers while maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment through infection control activities and room cleaning. Document food consumption and patient care activities as required, reporting any concerns voiced by patients or changes in their condition to the team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent related skills & experience
- THP certification
- personal support worker certificate
- appropriate other related Health Care Certificate
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) & CPR Certificates
- A positive attendance and work record
- Must have the knowledge, skill, judgment and ability to work with patients in an understanding, sensitive and compassionate manner
- Must be a self-directed individual with well-developed organizational skills
- Possess the ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
Desired Qualifications
- Previous Hospital/Health Care experience
- Current basic computer skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
