Job Summary
Secure, on-site Patient Care Assistant support on the Patient Services units, delivering direct patient care under supervision, assisting nursing staff with meals, hygiene, transfers, and infection control, and contributing to a safe, clean patient environment in a hospital setting. Requires THP certification and/or PSW certificate and BCLS/CPR; strong communication skills and a compassionate, team-oriented approach to patient care. Temporary Full-Time position with scheduled shifts 14:45-22:45, Monday–Friday with some weekend work, based at Mississauga Hospital. Responsibilities include delivering meal trays, assisting with ambulation and activities of daily living, helping with transfers, maintaining patient comfort, and reporting concerns to the care team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent related skills & experience
- THP certification and/or, personal support worker certificate
- Current Basic Life Support (BCLS) & CPR Certificates essential
- Previous Hospital/Health Care experience strongly preferred
- Current basic computer skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
