Job Summary
Provide direct and indirect age-specific patient care under Registered Nurse supervision while adhering to department-specific care plans and unlicensed assistive personnel scope of practice. Utilize effective interpersonal skills to maximize patient and family satisfaction scores, collaborate within a culturally diverse workforce, and accept changing assignments throughout the shift. Perform basic non-licensed patient care activities, manage multiple assignments, and follow service excellence best practices to maintain high standards. Maintain professionalism in behavior and dress, demonstrate flexibility for evolving job duties, and contribute to a caring work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program
- Successful completion of a Medical Assisting (MA) program
- Completion of School of Nursing Fundamentals
- Minimum six months nursing assistant or MA experience
- Demonstrates competencies in fundamentals of patient care
- Knowledge of scope of practice for unlicensed healthcare team members
- Able to read, write legibly and speak in English
- Use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position
- Perform basic non-licensed patient care activities
- Comprehend and follow-through with instructions
- Relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others
- Be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies
- Work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of School of Nursing Fundamentals
- Minimum six months nursing assistant or MA experience
- Speak in Spanish
- Exhibits strong customer service skills
- Demonstrates flexibility and accepts changing assignments and job duties throughout the shift as requested
- Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service
